About the PhillyGolfGuide.com Course Rankings

"Where should we play?" The goal of this website and our rankings is to answer that simple question. Whether you're a local, a visitor, or new to the area, we want to show you which public golf courses are worth playing in the Philadelphia area. We are not a golf course directory that shows every golf course in Philly. We intentionally want to weed out the average and the bad courses and show you only the ones we consider to be good, quality courses that are worth your money and time to play (and yes, we know we're bound to ruffle some feathers with those that we've excluded).

This page will give you pertinent info and quick access to weather, course tours, directions and pricing for each course, and, where available, a course review and discount tee times.

Defining the PhillyGolfGuide.com Territory

For the purposes of this website we have defined the Philadelphia area as the following counties: Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties in PA; Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties in NJ; New Castle County in Delaware. Below you will find the area's Top 20 public courses as well as rankings of courses worth playing in each of those counties. As a bonus we've also included rankings for the Jersey Shore and the best private clubs in the area.

Course Rankings Feedback

As with any ranking system, there is bound to be plenty of feedback both good and bad and we can't wait to hear it. We'd love to hear why you agree and disagree with our rankings. If you make some good points and we like your arguments, then we're more than willing to update the rankings as we go along to reflect that. Consider these rankings a starting point, not an end.

Jeffersonville Golf Club - Jeffersonville, PA

Built in 1931, Jeffersonville Golf Club is the Philadelphia area's only daily-fee Donald Ross course, which plays to a par 70 of 6,443 yards. Annual home of the Philadelphia Publinks Championship, JGC is owned and operated by West Norriton Township, making it one of only ten Ross-designed courses owned by a municipality.
